At a glance
How it reaches a grower
Vernacular delivery through the Bhashini initiative, so guidance arrives in the language a grower already thinks in.
Fragmented agricultural data consolidated into one queryable place instead of scattered sources.
A custom API layer so other teams can build data-driven agricultural applications on top.
A grower sends an image of discoloured crop leaves and the assistant analyses it to identify the problem.
The brief
Indian agriculture does not have a data shortage, it has a data access problem
Agriculture is a cornerstone of the Indian economy and its information is a mess: fragmented across sources, rarely timely, rarely local, and almost never in the language of the person who needs it. A country with thousands of microclimates cannot be served by generic advice.
On top of that sit the problems advice alone does not solve — sustainability pressure, climate volatility, and market access barriers that decide whether a good harvest becomes a good year.
Consolidate the data, then deliver it in 22 languages and let people point a camera at the problem.
How a grower uses it
Ask the way you would ask a person
Ask
A question goes in as text or voice, in the grower's own language, phrased however they phrase it.
Send the evidence
For a crop problem the assistant asks for a photograph of the affected leaves and analyses the image.
Get a usable answer
The reply comes back in the same language, with follow-up material linked where the topic needs more than a message.
Go further
Marketplace pricing, service payments and financial products sit in the same hub rather than another app.
The build
A knowledge hub, an API layer and a language bridge
AgriGPT is the model layer, a custom generative AI assistant tuned for agricultural questions rather than a general model asked to guess. Underneath it sits the part that makes it useful: consolidated agricultural data, reachable through custom APIs so Farmo is a platform other applications can build on rather than a single chat window.
The language work is the difference between a demo and adoption. Vernacular support runs through the Bhashini initiative, covering 22 Indian languages with full explanatory answers rather than short translated snippets.
Around the core: a curated agricultural news feed, sustainable practice recommendations, climate adaptation tools covering drought-resistant crops and irrigation, farmer ID registries for crop and livestock tracking, real-time marketplace tools for fair pricing and produce auctions, and integration with microloans, subsidies and crop insurance.

Questions
Farmo.ai, answered
What is Farmo.ai?
An AI powered agricultural knowledge hub and API platform built by Wow Labz for Farmo.ai. Its assistant, AgriGPT, consolidates fragmented agricultural data and answers growers' questions in their own language.
How many languages does it support?
22 Indian languages, delivered through the Bhashini initiative. Answers are full explanations in the grower's language rather than short translated snippets.
Can it identify a crop problem from a photo?
Yes. A grower describing discoloured leaves is asked to send an image, and the assistant analyses the photograph to identify the likely issue. It also covers slower questions such as climate change adaptation, with linked material for topics that need more than a message.
What else is in the platform besides the assistant?
A curated agricultural news feed, sustainable practice recommendations, climate adaptation tools for drought-resistant crops and irrigation, farmer ID registries for crop and livestock tracking, real-time marketplace tools for fair pricing and produce auctions, financial integration covering microloans, subsidies and crop insurance, and a custom API layer other applications can build on.
