At a glance

The gap it addresses

100 of 1,100universities accredited

Only around a hundred Indian universities held the accreditation needed to offer online degrees.

22Indian languages

Plus English. Regional language support is what widens access rather than just digitising it.

NEP 2020compliance built in

Compliance handled by the system rather than bolted on per institution.

AwardGlobal Design Awards 2025

Winner, in a category where education software rarely competes.

The brief

Digital-first education, in a system that was not built for it

Indian higher education has an accreditation bottleneck: of roughly 1,100 universities, only about a hundred held the NAAC A+ standing required to offer online degrees. Behind that sit the practical reasons — traditional LMS and ERP platforms not built for online-first delivery, no regional language support, NEP 2020 compliance to satisfy, and running costs high enough to make digital adoption look optional.

Those are not four separate problems. An institution cannot solve language access with one vendor, compliance with another and cost with a third, because the cost is largely a consequence of running three vendors.

One system, because the reasons universities stall are entangled with each other.

The build

Cost as a design constraint

The platform displaces limited accreditation, outdated software and high running costs — and that third one shaped the architecture. Delivered as a SaaS subscription rather than a per-institution installation, it removes the capital cost that stops a mid-sized university starting at all.

Regional language support has widened access, and the AI tooling has improved student and faculty interaction. The platform's stated ambition is 300+ institutions by 2027 — a target, not a current figure.

It won the Global Design Awards 2025, which for an LMS and ERP is unusual: this is a category where usability is normally the first thing traded away.

What it does

Learning, operations and language

AI powered learning

Personalised learning experiences driven by AI, plus secure exam functionality and proctoring, which is what makes an online degree defensible.

Regional language support

English plus 22 Indian languages across content delivery, widening who can actually take a course rather than only who can enrol.

Operations end to end

Admissions, course delivery, faculty interaction, student lifecycle, curriculum management and alumni relations in one ERP rather than a stack of tools.

Questions

University CoPilot, answered

What is University CoPilot?

An AI led LMS and ERP platform for Indian universities, built to move institutions to digital first education. It covers multi language support, NEP 2020 compliance and operational scale in one system.

Which languages does it support?

English plus 22 Indian languages, across content delivery. Regional language support is the feature most directly responsible for widening access.

What problem in Indian higher education does it target?

The accreditation bottleneck. Of roughly 1,100 Indian universities only about a hundred held the accreditation needed to offer online degrees, held back by LMS and ERP platforms unsuited to online-first delivery, missing regional language support, NEP 2020 compliance burden and high operational costs.

Has it won anything?

Yes, it won the Global Design Awards 2025.
