At a glance

How it works

Milesalready being driven

The activity being rewarded is one the user was doing anyway. No behaviour change is required to start.

Smartcontracts

Reward distribution and token transactions automated, so payouts are not a trust exercise.

Real timeGPS and driving data

Mileage, rewards and driving stats tracked live rather than reconciled later.

Web3without the friction

The bridge between a token economy and an ordinary automotive experience.

The brief

Token rewards usually ask for something first

Most crypto reward schemes require the user to do something new: hold an asset, provide liquidity, learn a wallet. MotoDB's proposition inverts that. The rewarded activity is driving, which the user was doing regardless, so participation costs nothing.

That turns the difficulty into an engineering one. Real-world activity has to be measured accurately enough to pay out on, and the payout has to be trustworthy without anyone auditing it.

Rewarding real-world behaviour means the fraud surface is the real world, not the ledger.

The build

Bridging Web3 and an ordinary car

The stated aim is bridging Web3 with traditional automotive experiences, and the hard part of that is hiding the first from users who only care about the second. Tokenisation, smart contracts and Web3 integration sit underneath a product that presents as a driving app.

Decentralisation earns its place here specifically: a rewards scheme paying out on self-reported real-world activity has an obvious fraud problem, and a decentralised system with contract-enforced rules is a stronger answer than a company promising fairness.

Wow Labz covered UI/UX design, blockchain development, frontend, backend and QA. MotoDB reports increased engagement through the gamified rewards and a platform scalable for new features and partnerships.

What it does

Track, gamify, pay

Real-time tracking dashboards

Mileage, rewards and driving statistics tracked live, via real-time GPS and driving data.

Gamification

Leaderboards and streak-based incentives, which is what turns a passive reward into a reason to open the app.

Smart contract rewards

Reward distribution and token transactions handled by smart contracts, with redemption on chain.

Questions

MotoDB, answered

What is MotoDB?

A platform that tokenises real-world driving activity, rewarding drivers for miles they already drive with token rewards distributed automatically by smart contracts.

How are rewards calculated and paid?

Real-time GPS and driving data feed mileage tracking, and smart contracts handle reward distribution and token transactions, with redemption on chain.

What keeps it fair?

The decentralised system and contract-enforced rules. A rewards scheme paying out on real-world activity has a fraud problem, and rules nobody can quietly change are a stronger answer than a policy.

What did Wow Labz build?

UI/UX design, blockchain development, frontend and backend development, and quality assurance.
