At a glance

What it tracks

4signal types

Events, news, market conditions and discussions, across worlds rather than within one.

Manyworlds, one place

The comparison view that no individual metaverse has any reason to build.

Encyclopedianot a directory

Reference depth rather than a list of links, which is what the category was missing.

Neutralby position

Not owned by any world, which is what makes a comparison worth reading.

The brief

Every world publishes about itself and nobody covers the category

At the height of the metaverse cycle there were dozens of worlds, each with its own announcements, economy and community, and each publishing exclusively about itself. Anyone trying to work out where to spend time or money had no vantage point above the individual projects.

That is a structural gap rather than an oversight. No world has any incentive to help you compare it against the others, so the comparison layer has to come from outside.

Nobody inside a world is going to tell you how it compares to the one next door.

The build

Encyclopedia rather than directory

The framing matters. A directory lists what exists; an encyclopedia explains it, and the difference decides whether someone new to the category can actually use the site.

On top of the reference layer sits the live one: events, news, market conditions and discussions tracked across multiple worlds from one place. Reference material tells a visitor what a world is; the tracked signals tell them whether it is currently worth their attention.

Metaverse-List sits in a group of Wow Labz metaverse ventures alongside MetaPort, MetaMeets and MetaFactory, each addressing a different missing layer of that ecosystem.

Questions

Metaverse-List, answered

What is Metaverse-List?

A listing site that works as an encyclopedia for metaverses. Users track the latest events, news, market conditions and discussions across multiple worlds from one place.

How is it different from a directory?

A directory lists what exists. An encyclopedia explains it, which is what makes the site usable by someone new to the category rather than only by people already inside it.

What does it track?

Events, news, market conditions and discussions, across worlds rather than within any single one.

Why does it need to be independent?

Because no individual world has any incentive to help you compare it with the others, so the comparison layer has to come from outside them.
