At a glance

What a host gets

5+event types

Parties, conferences, team building, corporate celebrations and everything adjacent.

Ownspaces

Hosts create the space rather than picking from fixed rooms, which is what makes an event feel like theirs.

Videochat inside

Faces still matter, so video sits inside the virtual space rather than replacing it.

Gamesand activities

The thing a video call cannot do, and the reason to be in a virtual space at all.

The brief

A video call is a meeting, not an event

Remote events inherited the grid of faces from remote meetings, and then could not work out why nobody enjoyed them. A conference, a party and a team building day are not long meetings — what makes them work is moving around, choosing who to talk to, and doing something together.

A video call structurally cannot deliver any of that. Everyone is in one room, everyone hears the same conversation, and the only activity available is talking in turn.

You cannot wander off and meet someone in a video call. That is the whole problem.

The build

One destination, many occasions

The scope is deliberately broad: parties, conferences, team building, corporate celebrations and everything adjacent. Building for one occasion type would have produced a better conference tool and a dead product, because no organisation runs enough of any single event type to justify learning a platform for it.

Making hosts create their own spaces is what makes that breadth work. The platform supplies the capabilities and the host supplies the occasion, rather than the platform trying to anticipate every kind of event anyone might run.

What it supports

Three things a call cannot do

Spaces hosts build

Hosts create their own spaces rather than choosing from fixed templates, so an event carries the organiser's intent instead of the platform's.

Video chat inside the space

Real faces inside a virtual environment, because removing people entirely is the mistake the previous generation of virtual events made.

Activities and games

Structured things to do together, which is what turns attendance into participation and is precisely what a grid of faces cannot offer.

Questions

MetaMeets, answered

What is MetaMeets?

A single destination for hosting events inside the metaverse: parties, conferences, team building, corporate celebrations and everything adjacent.

What can a host do?

Create their own spaces, connect over video chat, and run activities and games, opening up experiences a video call cannot reach.

Why not just use a video call?

Because an event is not a long meeting. Wandering off, choosing who to talk to and doing something together are the things that make an event work, and a grid of faces structurally cannot provide them.

Is it built for one kind of event?

No, deliberately. Hosts create their own spaces, so the platform supplies capability and the host supplies the occasion.
